Cancellation & Refund Policy: All cancellations must be received no later than 7days prior to your arrival. If you cancel 7 days prior to your arrival or less you will be charged 1night of the total accommodation amount. This includes no shows and cancellation of nights after arrival. Please note: Special events and promotional room rates/offers a no-cancellation policy applies, which means, no refunds or changes permitted. All cancellations and amendments must be received in writing. Refunds will only be made to the credit card debited for the original transaction. A processing fee of $50 or 6% of total amount (whichever is greater) of refund will be deducted from the total amount of each booking.

- Prices indicated are per room, for the number of people and the date(s) selected previously, unless otherwise specified (packages).
- Direct Bookings/Reservations Direct bookings/reservations with the motel will be at the contracted rates in New Zealand (NZD) dollars and will be due for settlement upon confirmation or by alternative arrangement. Method of payment (Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Debit Card or Eftpos).
- Child Policy : Children under 9 years old are not permitted; a child over 9 years old is regarded as an extra person and an adult rate applies.
Special Event Reservation/Cancellation Policy
All reservations over a Special Event Period for example: Taupo Cycle Challege; Taupo Ironman and Taupo Summer Concert ; etc require a minimum of 50% and up to 100% deposit at the time of booking/confirmation.
CHANGES to reservation: An extension to reservation term is a new booking and subject to availability. Any reduction in length of stay will be treated as a cancellation and subject to our standard cancellation policy.
SMOKING is not permitted in any of the rooms. Guests are welcome to smoke outside away from door ways and open windows. If smoking occurs within the rooms, motel management reserves the right to charge specialist cleaning costs.
VISITORS are welcome but are not permitted on the premises after 10pm. We ask you to respect your fellow guests and noise must be kept to a minimum past this time. Parties and noisy gatherings are not permitted at VU Thermal Lodge. Motel management reserves the right to terminate the stay of any guest that does not comply to this rule.
DAMAGE/LOSS to the room or property of VU Thermal Lodge, whether intentional or accidental, will be the full responsibility of the registered guest. Any charges incurred will be passed to the registered guest (including insurance excess) by debiting the credit card provided or by invoice.
PAYMENT TERMS: Standard Rates - All reservations require a valid credit card. The credit card will not be debited but may be validated or pre-authorised (debit visa cards are accepted but must have a funds balance at all times, otherwise booking may cancel). Full payment is required prior to departure unless arrangement has been made to invoice guest. Guest will be liable for all costs incurred recovering an overdue account.
Candle
In the interests of health and safety and the preservation of our rooms, burning of candles of any description or use of incense or similar is strictly prohibited.
